About Us

Certified professional translators

Brought together by our shared passion for literature and languages, we decided to create our own literary translation agency, because, as the saying goes, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” Thanks to our diversity, we are able to translate all kinds of literary works from and into our working languages: French, English, German, and Spanish. Our goal is to use our work to share and sustain literature on a larger scale by breaking down language barriers.

A business is nothing without the people who make it thrive: Aurélie, Alida, Ruthy, and Maëlys. Each of us brings her unique perspective and expertise to the table, allowing us to build something greater together.

Our Values

1

Passion

Our agency relies on passion for translation because we believe it makes our work more authentic and genuine. Therefore, we like to collaborate with authors and publishing houses who value their work as much as we do ours. As the American writer Mark Twain said, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Each member of our team enjoys, not only reading, whether it is poems, novels or short stories, but also playing with their different languages. We are as passionate about our work as authors are about theirs, which allows us to take special care of the books entrusted to us.

2

Trust

One of our core values is trust, as without it, creating lasting and meaningful collaborations is nearly impossible—whether among team members or with authors and publishing houses. Ideally, our clients trust us to carry out the translation of their works effectively, and we trust our clients to fairly reward our work for its true value. In order to establish this trust, which is so important to us, we always maintain a professional approach, even with our longstanding clients. We also take confidentiality very seriously, notably by including non-disclosure clauses in our contracts. Once a contract is fulfilled, we remain available to the client for any requests or questions regarding the service provided.

3

Diversity

Our agency places a high value on diversity. For this reason, we make it a priority not to focus on the origin, gender, or beliefs of those we work with. Our hiring process is based on candidates' skills and personality rather than their appearance. In fact, we are always on the lookout for translation projects that align with our values: among our translations are numerous books that promote inclusivity, acceptance of others, and tolerance. We firmly believe that translation helps build bridges between countries and people, no matter who they are. Thus, every year we try to put authors from minority groups in the spotlight so that their work can reach a wider audience.

Ruthy GBOGBU EDIBA

Hello, my name is Ruthy, and my work languages are English, French and Spanish. My specialties are mostly novels and poetry books. After getting my licence degree in Applied Foreign Languages in English and Spanish and my master degree in translation, I am now working here in AARM Translation.
What I love the most about working in this agency is the diversity and creativity of all the authors that submit their books to us. Sharing their work in a different language and spreading their work in different countries feels like an accomplishment not only for me but also for them. It is such a pleasure to be able to work in a place where authors can rely on us and create a professional relationship based on trust to translate their story, sharing our passion for literature and put forward their talent.

Alida KANEZA

I am a translator because I adore languages. I am fascinated by how they look, how they sound, and I’m especially fascinated by the subtle nuances words can have when translated from a source language into a target language. I like to joke about how I’m “Ms. Worldwide”, because of all the places I’ve traveled to since I was young: the United States, Germany, Russia and now France. I’ve lived in all of these places for four to five years at a time, learning about the people, the cultures, and of course, the languages. Pursuing a career as a translator was pretty much a no-brainer. As for books, I’ve always been an avid reader; I love playing my part in extending knowledge across linguistic boundaries.

Maëlys DIZIERE

After obtaining my high school diploma, I decided to pursue a double degree in law and literature, language and culture in English and Spanish. I was immediately drawn to translation, whether in French, English, or Spanish, especially when I realized that I could combine my love of languages with my passion for literature.

I continued my studies with a master's degree in translation, during which I met the people with whom I would later start an agency. My background in law enables me to translate with precision while maintaining the originality that is characteristic of literary works. Through my extensive reading, I have discovered a variety of styles and developed creative writing skills. I enjoy the freedom and diversity that my profession offers, both in the act of translation itself and in my work environment.

Aurélie MURATET

I am an active member of AARM and one of the founders. Growing up, I was always fascinated by languages and new cultures. I’ve always wanted to travel and discover the world, but for that I needed to learn new languages. I used to sing songs in broken English or Spanish until one day I decided to look more into the meanings and words, with of course a base that was created at school.

I started diving into it, went to Canada to study psychology after graduating high school, then, dropped everything went back home and decided to follow the path of Applied Foreign Languages in English and Spanish in order to achieve my dream, becoming a translator and interpret . With hard work, I made it to the master's degree and here I am today.
